This knock off Temple Run game could be set to any TV show but fits the madcap adventures of popular urine-consumer Bear Grylls. Although it’s a second-hand version of one of the most popular iPad/iPhone games, it still provides modest entertainment.
Gameplay in Survival Run is easy to master. Bear is chased by a bear. Yes, that last sentence is grammatically correct and accurate. As Bear sprints away from the grizzly, turns, jumps and low hanging objects get in the way. You must swipe in the correct direction to pivot, leap and slide as you collect coins and try to race as far as you can for the most points.
Every run is randomly generated, keeping you on your toes and the one trick to keeping the experience fresh time after time. There are a modest amount of upgrades to unlock including a coin magnet and different skins for Bear to unlock and other bonuses which also adds to the replayability of the game.
There really isn’t much to say about Survival Run other than its like buying a knock-off watch. It looks alright, keeps the time, but deep down, you know it’s really just a cheap look-a-like which somewhat mars the whole experience. Although, considering the game is free, there really isn’t too much to complain about with this nifty clone that serves it’s dual purpose as a marketing tool and semi-entertaining time killer.
