The Game of Life is a classic Milton Bradley board game from the sixties that has been retooled for the mobile generation. The Game of Life app is available on all mobile devices, including iOS, Android and Kindle Fire.
I was traveling this week and my husband and I had to do laundry in a laundromat. While we were waiting for our clothes, we downloaded The Game of Life for iPad. I hadn’t played Life since my childhood, but it instantly came back to me. First we picked our characters. I was Rachel, the sassy black woman and my husband was John, the red headed nerd. We immediately had to make the decision to pursue a career or go to college. John went the career route and became a low wage earning salesman and I went to college and became a doctor.
Spin the wheel and move through the phases of Life, get married, have kids, buy a house, sue each other etc. The Game of Life isn’t a strategy game, it’s more of a family game. The premise hasn’t changed, so if you liked it when you were a kid you’re in for a treat.
Note: Don’t get the $0.99 version on the iPad, you’ll be disappointed in the resolution.
