I got a coupon to download the Bejeweled app for free while I was at Starbucks recently. I’ve played Jewels for Android, and figured this would be pretty similar though it turns out that Bejeweled is much more robust. Bejeweled has 5 different modes you can choose from in the main menu: Classic, Diamond Mine, Zen, Butterflies and Blitz.
Bejeweled Classic consists of the basic game where the premise is to swap a jewel with an adjacent jewel to connect three or more of the same colors in a row.
Diamond mode is timed play where the ground floor is higher up on the screen, and if you make a match directly next to the ground, you dig out some of the floor. The timed element adds a lot more interest and excitement for me.
In butterfly mode, you match butterflies to like-colored gems to release them. If you have a butterfly near the top of the screen by the spider and don’t save it, then the game will promptly end.
Zen mode offers endless play with soothing ambient sounds and positive affirmations! There are zen options where you can control the sounds, mantras and breathing modulation. It all seems a little hokey pokey for me, but some might find it nice to never lose!
