Geared

Geared is a very cool puzzle app where the object is to connect the gears so the blue gear gets powered. One or more gears are moving and you’re given gears to attach to the moving ones creating a chain that ultimately joins with the blue gear. As the levels progress it becomes increasingly more challenging. If you need hints the solve button will show you the solution for 5 tokens or by watching a video or reviewing the game.

When you get to level 21, the “no drop zone” is introduced. The text here instructs “Gears cannot be placed while their centers are in this zone.” The key to this is WHILE they are in the zone. Once I figured that out then I was able to move through the next 10 levels pretty quickly. What they mean here is you take your gear above the no drop zone box and then drop it into place.

The image quality of the free version on the ipad is pretty poor. You have to 2x zoom it to fill the screen and it isn’t high resolution. The Geared app is an interesting puzzle app and I would recommend getting the paid version if you’re on an ipad (or try it for free, get hooked, then buy the paid).
