I’m so excited about the Ichi game app. Ichi is a very clever one button puzzle game. The object is to collect all of the golden rings by hitting them with a gold dot. The gold dot is self propelled and bounces off of walls and other objects in the playing field. Tap the screen to turn blocks and manipulate other objects in order to solve the puzzle. If your dot hits a section of the wall with a break in it, you’ll lose and have to start over.
In level 11 you learn to draw a line, this is crucial for passing level 12. You can only draw a line in the immediate tail of the yellow dot, so once you play through some of level 11 you’ll figure out where you need the line, then start over and draw a line that blocks one of the breaks in the wall.
The developers at Stolen Couch Games have included a genius feature to the Ichi game. They’ve given users the ability to create their own levels. You can edit the walls, place objects and test your game before publishing. I created a heart shaped level and called it “Ichi Love.” Creating a decent level isn’t as easy as you’d think, it’s just as challenging as playing the game. At the time of this writing, there are 619 levels created by users.
For $0.99 you’re getting a lot of game. Ichi is a creative and engrossing app that’s enjoyable for all ages.
