Game developer Magmic brings Rubik’s Cube, the three dimensional toy puzzle from the 70′s to life on the iPhone and iPad. Choose from the classic red, blue, white, yellow, green and orange cube, or a picture cube or even a crazy-I-have-no-idea-how-to-solve-it cube. You can opt to play a timed game or not, and you can even play with motion controls where you move your device to turn the cube. Combine the motion controls with the 3D glasses option and it’s almost like the real thing.
How to solve the Rubik’s Cube App
I have to admit I’m no genius at the Rubik’s Cube, but fortunately the app comes with a “Teacher”. I found this information interesting: Center piece colors are always opposite each other. White is always opposite of yellow, orange is always opposite of red and green is always opposite of blue. The tips are really in depth so if you’re serious about solving the Rubiks Cube, you’ll definitely be able to.
Kudos to Magmic, they did a fantastic job converting a three dimensional game to a two dimensional environment.
