The recent release of Amateur Surgeon 2 made me curious about the original Amateur Surgeon app. Amateur Surgeon is a simulation game of sorts where you’re a pizza boy turned surgeon; brought to us by our friends at adult swim.

Use the help guide for step by step directions for the procedures you’ll be performing. From small cuts to organ transplants, the guide covers all of the steps required to heal your patients. You’ll be using some unconventional tools like a pizza cutter or a corkscrew. You can play solo or pass and play. You might need something to occupy your time if you choose to do pass and play, the turns can be rather long.

Amateur Surgeon is a silly game that brings me back to the days of playing the game Operation as a kid. Kids today would probably really enjoy this game, however, the HD iPad version is rated 17+, though for some reason the regular version is 4+. Once you get through all of the surgeries, I don’t think there’s a ton of replay-ability, though that’s probably why there’s Amateur Surgeon 2.
