Bloons TD 4

Help me! I’m hooked on BloonsTD4!

 This fun and frenetic app is so much fun you’ll find it nearly impossible to put down. Now there may be one or two of you out there who aren’t into games of the tower defense genre but even to you I’d recommend having a go at BloonsTD4. 

What is a tower defense game? Basically you have limited resources to set up armed defenses (traditionally towers) against an onslaught of baddies looking to get past you and, well what happens next depends on the particular game but I think you get the picture. The more attackers you wipe out the more resources you have to spend on additional defenses, which is good because the attackers get more ferocious and more numerous as the game goes on. Basically you repeat this cycle until the attackers cease coming or, in the case of BloonsTD4 there are just too many of them to stop.

On paper it may sound a little tedious, but if you are into tower defense games you already appreciate the strategy and cunning that is involved in a truly well made game, and that’s exactly what Bloons TD4 is!

The original BloonsTD was a free for play flash game found on the web, but the amazing graphics capabilities and processing power of today’s mobile devices have allowed the game to blossom into the wonderful version it has been released in today. 

Bloons differs from your average tower defense game in that instead of alien invaders or rampaging robots you are tasked with preventing a series of increasingly nested balloons from reaching the end of a multitude of whimsically colorful and humorous pathways. The weapons at your command? Mainly a horde of comically upgradeable dart flinging monkeys. For this reason Bloons is one of the few tower defense games you can feel comfortable letting children of most any age play. The most violence you’ll encounter is the pleasant popping of a rainbow collection of drifting balloons.

Now this is not to say that Bloons isn’t entertaining for adults as well. Grownups will enjoy deploying supermonkeys and ape mortars against the balloon onslaught just as much as the youngsters. The game advances by presenting you with new upgrades for your monkeys in a fairly rapid fashion, so you don’t have to worry about investing a lot of time slogging through uninspiring lower levels of play before getting to the more destructive types of monkey armaments such as the monkey stealth fighter raining clouds of darts or the monkey wizard with his balloon scattering magic tornado.

The huge variety of levels and variations on gameplay means you can always take 5 minutes out of a hectic day to get some balloon popping satisfaction in a way you’ve never tried before. Trust me, having spent hours already playing this amusing app I never find myself getting bored with it and can imagine hanging on to it in my phone for a long time to come. When you consider the low price and the potential for long-lasting enjoyment I look at BloonsTD4 as one of the best app bargains I have on my phone!
