Trivia by Sporcle

Sporcle is a basic trivia app. The graphics aren’t sophisticated, but once you get into it, that doesn’t really matter. The trivia isn’t multiple choice, you actually type in the answer. If you’re right, you don’t even have to hit enter. The first game I tried was 1999 trivia. Where all of the questions/answers are based in 1999. I knew about half of them, which is pretty good for me since my memory is terrible.

The second game I tried was one question with 50 answers. The question was: Can you name the top 50 American companies by number of Employees? At first when I opened it and saw 50 blanks with number of employees next to the blanks I thought it would be impossible. It turned out you don’t have to know which company goes with which number, you just have to name top companies within the time limit.

This isn’t a visually beautiful app, but the trivia games are interesting and the functionality works great. I’ve been on the lookout for a trivia app I can play with my husband while we’re on road trips, and this one fits the bill perfectly. New games are added daily and I think entering your own answer works better in a group situation rather than reading through a bunch of multiple choice.
