Wheel of Fortune is a U.S. television program that has been on the air since 1975. The show has always been a great premise for a video game starting with the Commodore 64 in 1986. Blast to the future and Wheel of Fortune is still on TV and is now a sophisticated app.
Recently, I downloaded the Wheel of Fortune App and was greeted with this message “Wheel of Fortune Platinum was not meant for use on an iPad…Please purchase Wheel of Fortune HD
.” I’m happy to note that I didn’t get charged for the version that wasn’t compatible with the iPad.
Anyway. The Wheel of Fortune app is a LOT cooler than I expected. Single player has 4 different modes. In TV Show mode you play against 2 other computer players. Solo mode is just you alone. Toss Up is a single game where letters are revealed and you try to guess the word as fast as possible. In Speed Up mode you spin the wheel once and everyone guesses letters for the same amount of prize money.
Multiplayer also has 4 different modes. I really enjoyed Pass & Play with my husband (who kicks my butt). Other options available are Live Game over the internet, Turn-Based or Local if you have friends with it on their devices.
It’s a great way to play hangman. I’ll be keeping this game on my iPad for Pass & Play.
