I’m definitely late to the PvZ zombie party, but I’m just glad that I finally found it! WOWOWOW Plants vs. Zombies is the number one app in my house right now! I saw PvZ at a friend’s house recently on a Sony PlayStation, but didn’t really give it a second glance because the zombie app genre doesn’t really interest me, I’m more of a puzzle and board game player. The other day when I was looking for a new game to play and was filtering games in iTunes by category, Plants vs. Zombies kept showing up as the first result. At first I was going to download the $2.99 version vs. the $6.99 HD version for iPad, figuring that I’d play it a few times and then lose interest. My husband told me to get the $6.99 version because he would probably play it too. Well – if you’re considering getting this for the iPad, get the HD version. This game is completely addictive and and way too much fun.
The object of Plants vs. Zombies is to protect your house from the zombies. You earn points by tapping on the sun that falls from the sky or by tapping on the sun created by the sunflowers you plant. With these points you can plant more flowers to get more sun, OR you can plant shooters and other bombs that prevent the zombies from getting to your house. After each level you gain another tool to ward off the zombies and after awhile you get to select your arsenal. This is where some planning comes in. You get a peek at what types of zombies are coming and then you have to select a balance of ways to gain points and ammo.
So Plants vs Zombies has really taken over for me and my husband. Once we realized we LOVED the game, and then we realized we were at the same level, we started going level for level. Oh, before I go on, I want to note another thing I really like about Plants vs Zombies. I really like games that save user info, where you can play as yourself, and then another player can log in and pick up from where they left off. That said, today Brian jumps on the iPad first thing this morning to get his PvZ fix and plays a level using my profile. He tells me, and I actually get really mad!! Like really mad! He apologizes and I say “I hear you” but don’t readily accept his apology. I say “How am I going to become a great zombie killer if you keep playing my levels?” Seriously. I’m over it now. But wow who would have thought. Zombies.
If I could give the Plants vs Zombies app 6 stars I would. Buy this game.
